Normal mapping (displacement mapping?) would be really cool. I wonder if they could trick Bryce into treating each poly on import as if it were a terrain and use the map pic as the heightmap. (If done right, it should yield this result. Right?)

Well, there are a fair few bugs in bryce 5 that might require a lot of work just to get rid of ... and then there's the bugs that'll show up when they start moving old dead bits of rotting code around....
