Hello,
I thought I've seen a saddle rifle scabbard around someplace but I can't remember where.
Does anyone know of one?
Thanks,
hdrider

I used to pull that until an irrate citizen almost clobbered me. When asked by a stranger "Do you know what time it is?" or "Do you know how I can get to - wherever - ?" or somesuch I'd reply "Yes" and just keep walking.
Well I did answer their question, didn't I?

I think I've seen some saddle stuff over at Daz..you could try Freestuff here, search on 'tack' (which isn't exactly what it is..but close..maybe try 'dressage' as well..;)

English is not my language but I have an interest in horses. And got most horse 3D items that can be found. So if someone can explain what 'saddle rifle scabbard' is maybe I know where to find it.

I think Cooler is hinting that he has already made one- as I have it- ideal for Winchesters, etc. (Scabbards are like pistol holsters. They protect the barrel from dirt- and are often attached to a horse saddle and used by range hunters or military cavalry.) Try Cooler's HUGE free collection of stuff over at 3DCommune -as its most likely there.

Other scabbard trivia- they were also made of canvas and used on US Army jeeps and motorcycles to holster M1 Carbines in WW-II...

BTW- the Scabbard term comes from its usage originally for holstering--- Sabers, -used by mounted cavalry. -So a US Cavalryman or Civil War Dragoon troop might well have a nice metal scabbard for their sabers, a leather scabbard for their Henry rifles and the officer in charge might well also have a scabbard for his field telescope...
