hi guys. what's going on around here? weird thing happening. someone makes comment on my image. it's there. 5 minutes later it's gone. 30 minutes later it's back...then it's gone again. IM...says i have 2 messages...but there's only one there. i log out...it doesn't show me as logged out. i can't log off at all. earlier today i could, but after i logged off, it showed me as still logged in. then when i would go to photography forum, it would tell me i had to log in. now i can't log out at all, comments are missing, IM messed up. either counter is wrong or i have missing messages. Anybody...any clues????

my husband figured it out. here's what we did... --went to temporary internet files --clicked on settings --then where it says "check for newer version of stored pages"...well that was set at "never." --this "never" setting means computer won't check for newer of updated page. don't ask me what any of this means...but anyway, now everything's working. thanks anyway, sheila

Basically put, Your computer was reading an old version of the webpage and not refreshing your cookies to see the new page.

Actually, it may be worse than that. There is also a worm going around which can alter the contents of your cookies. A change in a single bit in a cookie can cause even more dramatic effects that these. If you have this worm, there will be other weird effects when you visit other web sites, and the effects will vary from site to site. You should buy AdAware, or a similar program that can remove worms from your hard drive. At the very least, you should delete all the cookies from your hard drive, though the worm may have migrated into another folder or created a virus by now. When it infected my computer, I used AdAware to remove it before it could do much damage or migrate from the Temp Internet Files folder.
