Hi, Someone spoke to me about VUE D'ESPRIT...I must admit, this apps never crossed my path! I'm on a Mac plateform and I'm looking for an apps able to create 3D props and costumes to be exported to POSER 4 and also able to generate 3D landccapes for integration in ANIMATION MASTER. Could someone give me some feedback and, if available on a Mac plateform, tell me where I could purchase this software on line ? Many thanks to all Mark

Hi Mark, Unfortunately, Vue d'Esprit is only available for Windows. I'm not sure what future plans for it might be, but I hope they'll be making a Mac version at some point ahead. Although it does have its own set of primitives and very easy Boolean ability, Vue isn't a modeler and it doesn't have any export ability, so it wouldn't work for making props/costumes for Poser. You can review Vue d'Esprit's features here: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/ For what you're interested in, you might want to look into Bryce or 3DS Max. There are forums for each here at Renderosity. :) Varian -- Treasures d'Esprit http://www.varian.net/dreamview/dreamtools/vue/ -- HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I think at E-on the keep saying that they're waiting to see how much of a desire there is from people for there to be a Mac version of Vue d'Esprit before they consider it. Actually, they have considered it. The question is, how many Mac users want Vue? Personally, I think it's pretty bad of them to NOT have a Mac version by now, but what can you do? Maybe writing to them and letting them know yopu would like to see it happen. I don't know how many people it would take for them to want to whip one up, though, but it couldn't hurt to write to them and tell them it's something you'd be interested in seeing. I hate to see our Mac buddies left out, and it really bothers me every time someone brings it up and we have to say, "no, sorry......." :( Cheers, Mike

Hi all, You need to reflect upon where things were with the Mac a few years ago when Vue started as a commercial product. The "pre-Jobs" Apple was in sad shape, and 3D developers were abandoning it. That being said, we ARE considering still. In fact, Ill be at MacWorld Expo in SF next month. I myself have a lime green 333 mhz iMac next to my Compaq biz machine :) Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software US Business Unit

Ahh, yes, good point, Lynn. You're a Compaq user? Me too. Scary, huh? Anyway, I think it's safe to say that the Mac is not going away. That all rhymes, doesn't it? :) Oh yeah--- my point: I would say that it's about time for a mac version of Vue d'Esprit; after all, Bryce comes in the Mac flavor, right? I hope you see something at the MacWorld Expo that helps you to convince them to do it. :) And have a Merry Christmas, too. :) Mike

Compaq does make very good business machines, though I have to say, the next machine Ill get will be a custom built one that I can fiddle with myself (and fit in a muscle graphics card as well!). MetaCreations was very good about cross-platform support, and also putting both platforms in the same box. I think that does make it tricky though to determine who is buying for which platform. And my advanced good will -- (English speakers) Merry Christmas to you all! (Japanese speakers) Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu! Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software US Business Unit
