I still can't seem to get the morphed figure from poser 5 into vue 4.2 or bryce 5, they still import only as defaults as far as the pose goes but the head stays morphed the way I did it in poser.. can't seem to find out what step I'm missing, if any, during the exportimport process. got any ideas my friends?? I work on a MAC G5 OSX ~ zoren

I'm not sure if you're actually morphing the figure, as in with magnets etc. or merely posing and not getting the poses to export but...I import into Bryce all the time the only thing I can't get out of Poser 5 is hair but other than that a straight export as an .obj file works fine for me. Maybe a P5 screen shot followed by a bryce screen to show what the diff's are?

Guess I'm just posing the figures 'cause I haven't been using any of the magnet dialogue..is that the problem? I always get (unexpected error, invalid format) in bryce wether I use .obj file or .pz3 file.....with view it is intermit, mostly get (fatal error, then quits) mostly with .pz3 maybe on third or fourth try I can get an .obj file to import, but then like I say, it reverts to the default pose, except for the head.

Ahhh...ok...the invalid format error is usually something bad in the polygons created by the posing you did. The simple fix is a freeware program called Grouper. The link is the download page and has some explanation of how to use it. This problem killed me for awhile...grouper has fixed every one of the errors I've gotten.

hey Curtis, thanks for taking the interest to help me with this problem. You are probably on the right track, alas and unfortunately, Grouper works for the PC only and is not compatable for the MAC OS...hopefully, there must be another way, I will keep trying.

DOH!! One last thing to try might be using an intermediate program. Wings 3D is freeware, and I believe works on Mac. You COULD try importing your model into wings and then saving from there as a .obj again...see if that fixes the poly problem.
