yesterday i wasted 4 hours checking scripts and im/exports options to get a good uv mapped model from wings to blender the script at the link works ok so that others can use it too.

Hrmmm...Im using Blender 2.35 and the PR2 version of 2.36. And aside from creating extra edges, everything works perfectly, including UV mapping.
What version of Blender are you using?
Please note that this script is labeled as being for version 2.28

im hoping they make an improved obj importer some time soon so im not waiting like oh 5 to 10 minuets just to import one base figure
