I don't think so. I read the book MANY times and looked in the illustrated guide. I thought Aiel were all redhead... but from my take on them, they are like vikings... blond and red-heads. The illustrated guide definately portrays Aviendha as blond and Elayne as redhead. But thanks for the comment!

Hmm. It's been a few years, but I was fairly certain Elayne was depicted as having a mane of golden hair - in fact, until Rand met the Aiel, red hair was extremely rare, and one of the reasons he stood out so well... Again, it's been a while, but I think you are right about Aviendha, but I suspect the artist in the illustrated guide screwed up on Elayne.. ;-)

That's possible... I'll have to go back to the first book when Rand falls over the palace wall and meets Elayne.
