Here is a comment I just recieved on a render I just posted :::: yet another badly posed, poorly consived, load of old bollox... Have you ever seen a real woman naked? You have no idea of anotomy. If you are going to use the software, at least learn how to use it before you let loose this crap on mankind! I hope you got an erection while making this pile of shite. Cuase at least somthing good will have come out of this..... Art is supposed to make a statment, not send you too sleep!
I wonder what I did to piss this person off ?

Don't mind the trolls, they are just misguided souls that crave attention, and apparently they aren't getting enough with their own art,so they troll around bashing others to make up for it.

I wonder what I did to piss this person off ? Exist on the planet. :-) Some people have no constructive or useful ways to vent their anger and other issues, so they take it out on random people on the net by posting crap like that. Mostly I feel pity for people like that. bonni

yup, he honestly was just looking for someone to be mean to. To be quite honest with you, your pic is excellent! I noticed when I went to look how naturally the body flowed, and yet it meshed great with the mechanics on the bottom. If you look in his gallery he only has a couple photos with not very many views or comments. So in short, I think he probably has a bad case of jealousy.

OK that's just weird. Because I went and looked at your image, and it's nothing like that. And there are some images here that ARE like that. So if you were going to post something that rude, then make sure it fits the image, at least. Such an odd thing. I would ignore it, and totally leave the comment there. The person is just a troublemaker looking for a big reaction.

standing on soapbox Poser users are often targets of rancor from the 3D community for various reasons. Some of it is jealousy I'm sure over Poser's "ease of use" compared to the do-it-yourself techniques, but some of it also has to do with Poser's own community behavior. Yes, I consider myself part of this community, but I'm also part of other communities, and sometimes have to see things from "their" perspective as well. The truth is, as we all know, the Poser community is a very active one compared to those of other applications. Much of what is posted to the Poser galleries is work done by people who often do not take the time to work on developing their skills before publishing their art, and do not accept constructive critiques very well once the work is made public. People in this community tend to be compassionate and embrace all works, even that which is clearly a novice effort, without offering ways to improve. This is a pattern that manifests itself much more prolifically in this community than any other I've seen. The result, when viewed from the "outside" can appear as if this community has insulated itself from harsh or "matter-of-fact" critique. This apparantly causes some people to lash out indiscriminately at our community as a whole. At least that's how I see it. stepping off soapbox That said, I don't think the work in question here deserved the remarks made at all. Even if it were a constructive crit, which it was NOT, I don't think it would have been accurate at all. The guy is obviously just an idiot.

Hi trelihan,

Welcome to the cesspool section of the world.

It is inevitable that you will eventually offend someone with something you say, do, or draw.

Renderosity has a "nudity" filter that may be used to filter out (properly flagged) images that may offend some viewers.

Unfortunately, there is no such filter to prevent someone who may be mentally unbalanced from becoming a member here and subsequently posting comments in the gallery or here in the forum. It just goes with the territory and one must just develop a dermis with greater dimension and more fortitude in order to survive. Just ask one who knows. ;=]

"You really think this has anything to do with a baby born in a stable full of straw on a cold night. A child born to live a perfect life so that all mankind may have eternal salvation!" I find it ironic that he doesn't really know anything about his own religion. Jesus lived a perfect life? Where is that written? Jesus felt pressured by crowds, snapped at a woman who sought healing, turned his mother away when she questioned his sanity, let his anger show in the Temple, and let a friend die so he could show his authority over death. These things are not evidence of a perfect life. After all, Jesus was, at least in part, human. "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?"

Thank you folks, this matter has been taken care of and the offensive comments deleted. Just a reminder to everyone... The TOS specifies that personal attacks are not allowed, including retaliatory attacks. That means that if a troll calls your picture "a steaming pile of poop", you can't go and post a comment on all his/her pictures saying the same thing. Otherwise you could end up getting yourself a warning, too. That hasn't happened on this ocassion but I just thought I'd remind everyone. Having a nasty comment posted can be very upsetting but the best way to deal with it is to contact a mod or coord and let us remove the comment and deal with the poster. Cheers! Which is just as well, as far as I am concerned. I've come to regard verbal knife-fights as largely a waste of my time. I've got better things to do.
