You might remember a while ago I posted an inquiry about train models for a movie I'm working on. The links that were provided were great, but nothing quite like the San Francisco N-Judah train was out there, so I'm working on it myself.
Here's my work from last night. I'm using the vertex modeler for the first time, really. I'd always been intimidated by it, since I'd started out with RayDream 3D, which didn't have a vertex modeler at all, and I'd learned to work with the spline modeler primarily. So, this is all new and exciting for me.
Obviously, this is very early in construction, but if any of you see something that I'm doing that's going to cause me grief in the near future, please let me know!
I'll continue to post updates; eventually I'll be adding photographic textures from the real train, and since I've never used the UV mapper, either, I'll probably be seeking help with that!
(For a guy who's been doing 3D stuff since 1998 or so, I'm still learning some basic stuff, aren't I?)
Anyway, critiques, comments and suggestions are always appreciated!
