Ok, I haven't been able to afford V3 yet, and now I'm seeing stuff about V3 Generation3 2005? What the heck? I didn't see anything wrong with the OTHER one I couldn't afford...now there's even MORE competition? Why don't they quit this and support the M2 product line for a while?
EnglishBob posted Thu, 23 December 2004 at 9:24 AM
V3G3... isn't competition, just an add-on for the Victoria 3 that you don't have. :)

It's a package of morphs.....That said...I do wish Daz would support David & M3 more :)
randym77 posted Thu, 23 December 2004 at 9:43 AM
V3 2005 is just a third-party morph pack - one of many. It's not a DAZ product, it's just brokered at DAZ.
But if you want to buy V3, DAZ has a new V3 bundle in the store this week. "The V3 Digital Beauty Design Kit." It's a pretty good deal, for people who don't have V3 yet.
Don't expect new products for M2 and V2. DAZ has made it clear that they will be concentrating on the generation 3 characters now. And M2 stuff just doesn't sell very well any more. V2 doesn't, either, but M2 is worse (being a male character).

A shame - I still find the generation 2 characters very useful. Particularly as they don't have to have all those stupid empty morph channels cleaned out the whole time - what a pain that is.

I still find Posette useful from time to time, but don't expect to get rich selling clothes for her. ;-)
I like the INJ/REM system. V3 2005 has some terrific morphs, but she comes with them all pre-injected, which makes her quite a load on the system resources. I wish I could remove the ones that aren't being used "on the fly."
But perhaps it wasn't practical. Apparently, V3 2005 uses ERC so that moving one dial controls many morphs. So it might be hard to tell which ones you need and which ones you don't.

There's already TONS of clothing and textures out there for M2 and V2. It reached a point where the market was pretty saturated. Posette has everytihng imaginable, if you just look. V3 is reaching saturation point. M3's wardrobe is pretty bare, and David's is almost non-existant. But even David has more cloths than Don or Judy. I tend to make things for David, new figures (Luke and Laura), and some specialty items (Koshini and clan). I don't make for M3 because David is such an improvement over him. I've made 6 or 7 free sets for M2, and for the life of me can't think of anything you can't either find in an MP or Freestuff somewhere for him. The only thing he didn't have was kink leathers and a good wizard's robe, and I did those (well, an OK wizard's robe). What do you want? Modelers and texturers make stuff mostly by what people seem to be asking for. Do a lot of Naked Vicky in the Temple pics, and you'll get more swordwomen and slavegirl costumes. Vendors make things based on what we think people want and are willing to pay for. Freestuff makers make stuff that interests them. I do both, and I'm lucky enough that some of what I would have given away people wanted to pay for, so I can actually afford my smokes (no lectures, please). M2? Tell me something that isn't already available for him, and I'll try to make it. If I can ever find my Poser 5 CD, I'll reload Don and make a stud set for him (I'm actually feeling sorry for the dorkier dork). One piece fo advice in looking for items for older figures, go to Poserworld. They've got more there for the Dork, Posette, M2, and V2 than all the other's combined. Good stuff too.

Although I do have V3 (head and body Morph). I sure like to see more M2 characters. Their is V2, V3 skin texture Characters (A wide range of em). Hair...now try to find hair for M2. Koz has one. I like to have hair for M2 like all the woman look at and not me (Hehe), "Brad Bitt" I am sure the woman here like to see guy images and not only V3 in the Gallery, and hopefully my wife can get into Poser to. Correct? I do not have the V3 2005 yet, but will in the future.

The thing with V2 and M2 clothing is that most of it looks as basic as he does. I look at the stuff Daz offers and haven't been tempted to buy anything yet. People want a wardrobe that matches the model. You don't put outdated clothes on a new doll :)
pdxjims posted Thu, 23 December 2004 at 2:02 PM
Soro: A lot of the older clothing at Daz is pretty basic for M2 and V2. However, the MP here, at rDNA, and at Poserworld has a wide variation of clothing. There are at least 4 or 5 leather jackets for M2. Suits, pants and jeans, t-shirts, bodysuits, and if you've got the cash, Uzilite's incredable M2 clothing. About the only thing I haven't seen for him is a good hoodie. Robo2010: most hair can be fitted pretty easily to another figure, although I agree I'd like to see more male hair. A lot of the female hair can be used with male figures. The Egypt Hair by 3Dream is great. Get the Egypt Hair Steps that go with it, and it fits M2, V2, David, V3, SP3, M3, and EJ. It also has fast poses for everything from a short male cut to a long waving style. Both packages together cost less than $15.

I'd like to see Gwendolyn do some male stars...as she has done with V3......M2/M3/David all would be good :)

I bought this thing and I think it is different than just a Morph pack for V3. It SEEMS to be V3 with a SPECIFIC MORPH PACK and ONLY THAT MORPH PACK. Cant add any other v3 morphs to it, cant add them to other V3s. I hope I'm wrong but I havent been able to accomplish it yet.
randym77 posted Fri, 24 December 2004 at 6:35 AM
You're right - there are no channels for V3's standard morphs, so you can't inject them.
However, you can transfer the V3NG2005 morphs into the standard V3, using Morph Manager. Then you'll be able to inject the usual V3 morphs.
XENOPHONZ posted Fri, 24 December 2004 at 9:23 AM
I've got my doubts about the utility of this V3 morph pack.
It looks....unable to do very much that I can't do already.
Unless if someone can indicate otherwise........
