Hi everyone. I'm kinda new to Poser 5, I knew how to do this with Poser 4 but the material room is confusing me. lol I have V3 and when I go to the material room, there is no color texture or image map node there. I've tried making a node for the image map and use a texture I downloaded there but it's not turning out right. Can someone please tell me how to apply a body texture to the V3 character? Thanks. :)

I assume that you don't have a MAT file for the texture to make it easier? In that case, assigning a texture manually goes like this: Select the body part in question. In the material window, click on the connection for Diffuse_Color and "pull" out a line to create a new node. Select "Image Map". An Image Map node appears, but with no texture loaded. Click on "None" beside the text "Image_Source". From there, you can browse to your texture. If it's already loaded somewhere else in the scene, you will find it in the drop down menu. Make a connection from "Specular Color" to the new node as well. Specular color is usually black (unless you want a really shiny look), so you might want to make sure it's black, sometimes it loads as white per default. You need to repeat this for every body part, but you can copy and paste the node to make it easier. Also make sure that the head and body textures goes on the appropriate parts! V3 with a nose on her belly might look fun, but I suspect it's not what you are after ;-)

Did you try the MAT Poses that came with V3 textures? Select V3 and apply the V3 skin MAT. The imagemap will be connected to the Diffuse color.

Thank you! I will try this and see how it goes. This is pretty much what I tried before but it didn't work out so well. haha I would have to look and see if I have a MAT file for this texture or not, but if I do, how would I go about it that way? :)

If you have a MAT file, it goes into you Pose library folder. You just double click on it and the texture is applied correctly.

Make sure you apply the MAT file in the Pose room and not the Material room. It won't apply properly in the Material room. Cheers!
