I feel sort of stupid asking this. I recently have began to import backgrounds into Poser Pro - these backgrounds I have created and modified using Adobe. I carefully used the same overall size and pixel aspect ratios in the backgrounds as the Poser ratios, I have also tried different background formats; jpg, psd, etc., etc. Upon the final render in Poser however, any background that is complex (as opposed to a simple gradient or colour) renders in a fractured or pixelated manner (the Poser figure renders without issue, only the background image is affected.) If the Poser image is 800 x 800 and 100 pixel ratio, and my Adobe background is 800 x 800 and 100 pixel ratio - what am I missing? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Beginners Misfortune

You will never get good quality importing background images into Poser. It's better to export your rendered image in PNG format, and then add the background in Photoshop. If that's not possible, apply your background image to the high-res square from the primitives section of the props library. Use that as a backdrop.

In ProPack an image that is imported as a background is not Anti-alias so you get that "pixelated" look (while everything else looks fine). If you apply your background image to the one-sided square (as randy mentioned),then it will be Anti-aliased the same as your figures. Using the square you also won't have to worry about the size of your document window fitting the image.....just size the square to fit your window. SWAMP

swamp and randy and anyone....In Poser5 what about importing a movie to put on the plane? can it be done and what node in the material room should it be attached to.

And...will the individual frames of the movie show up in real time as I scrub back and forth in my animation prior to render?

You can add the movie node to the diffuse color but as far as I know you wont get a preview of the movie when scrubbing. Remember and switch off cast shadows in the planes` properties.

You will never get good quality importing background images into Poser. Correction ... the quality is fine with Poser 5's Firefly renderer. The P4 renderer, however, downsamples the image to the size of the document window during import.

Many many thanks - the thought came into my mind (the cube, or one sided flat object)I just had yet to try this. I heard Poser 5 is quite improved - if I could only afford to purchase it right now - and keep the utilities on as well?!?! Much gratitude for your consideration.

Remember and switch off cast shadows for your background prop (it is the same for poser pro pack).
