I had a brain injury about 18 months ago and forgot most of what I knew about using Bryce. Finally got enough money saved to by Real World Bryce 4. I figure it will take me long enough to get to know how to use 4 again and by then I will finally have enough saved to get 5 which I am hoping that the tree lab will be good anyway just wanted to say I was glad I finally got the book.

The book is fantastic. They really did a very in depth study of the application. The only thing I have become disapointed in regarding either Bryce Real World 2 and 4 are that the companion web sites and resources that way are not happening. Antialas dropped from the world and she isn't to be found anymore too (Susan Kitchens) that is. Sorry to read that you suffered an injury of that order and am certainly hoping that you are much better since then... The terrain and Tree Labs in version 5 are a fantastic addition enhancement but hold onto version 4 since the render times are much faster for the most part. Good luck with what you do!

thank you for the info I will now hold on to 4 for the rendering times. Can you load trees you create in 5 into 4 or does that not work.

Susan is still around, she's dropped into the DAZ BryceTalk forum a couple of times.

bryce trees are apparently made out of metaballs... so no, you can't import them into 4. drac

Thanks for the info that Susan is still around. Back when I had questions to ask she didn't answer the e-mails that I sent from the then active companion site. Though you cannot use trees from version 5 remember that you can mask out photos of real trees and use those in Bryce 4 and can import trees say that have been exported from Carrara as 3D models.
