I don't know about Rhino, but it has been my experience importing objects into Bryce that I can Control-Shift-Click on the object and select individual pieces, without ungrouping the original. Perhaps you can use this to create your own groups. Hope this helps.

Keppel, also if you hold down the ctrl key and hold down the mouse over your model you get a pull down list of every object under the mouse at that moment and you can select from that list. Very handy - I used Bryce almost a year before knowing that and it has made things a lot easier. Then as fredramsey says if you add the Shift key to the mix you can select multiple pieces. The shift key works as a toggle between adding to your current selection or subtracting. Dave

Actually theres a much easier way to do this, select the small arrow and goto select mesh it will list each and every mesh. He's a tutorial on doing just that.keppel posted Thu, 28 December 2000 at 4:23 AM
