I know the image is small, but I'm having problems with the render... look at the beams of light and the blue square behind it. I don't want that their and I don't know how it got there or how to get ride of it.

I can't tell where that square is coming from, Jinx. What I'd do is take the figures and terrains out, so you just have the ground and water, and start again from there. Basically, eliminate most stuff and see if you have good clarity in the "water" first. It may have something to do with either the material you're using on the water plane, or the atmosphere, too, you might want to play with those settings.

The best way I have found to do underwater is to make sure you have a good back drop like a rock or terrain. I think what you are seeing is your fog or haze at the horizon as it really has nothing for the light to reflect against. I hope this will assist in your scene. :) This is a basic underwater preset I have used. I know I don't have a gallery here however most of my work is done on commission and the finished product is not mine to display. But I do love the Vue software and use it along with others to make my illustrations.

Looks like you stumbled on a limitation (bug?) from Vue4 :)
In this particular case, a way I found to get rid of this, is to add another object in the background.
On the capture I put a cube but you could put a terrain...
Its texture can even be totally transparent ! weird...
(The same file in Vue4Pro is allright.)
hope that helps. Paul
