Background: Ever since Renderosity first came on the scene, I have been one of the many people who could not view images linked through Renderosity's scripting. That meant I couldn't see banner ads, gallery images, images set into messages (unless linked offsite) and the Renderosity store was useless to me as well. Instead of the actual images, all I saw was the Rendosity logo, sometimes as much as 8-12 times on a single page. I'm not alone in that. Many others had the same problem. Most just stopped visiting here. I hung around because I could still read message posts and view the Free Stuff items at least. Current: Yesterday, after the holidays, I checked in here after about a week's absence and "what to my wond'ring eyes did appear" but IMAGES! Yes! I can now SEE all those images that used to be replaced with R's logo! I can view the galleries! I can see images in posts! I have visual aid in the store! I can even see the banner ads now, too! I'd just like to express my appreciation to whoever at long last changed the scripting that now permits me to see the actual images instead of that old bandwidth.gif logo. Being able to SEE is a really wonderful thing! Thanks for the holiday gift -- I sure hope it's not just some fluke! :) Varian -- Dreamview Art Resources http://www.varian.net/dreamview/

Actually, it had nothing to do with the scripting. It was a setting on the web server. Thank NegentropicMan for it!

Ohh! Maybe that's why the problem was so hard to track down...poring over pages of script that weren't really involved - lol. NegentropicMan -- thank you, thank you! What a vast (and very welcome) visual difference it has made in the site! :)

Glad that helped. Says alot for your patience and desire to be involved in the community. I am curious about your browser/machine/OS, as that setting was supposed to only keep you from 'downloading' the gallery images (yea, like you couldn't just browse your cache). With Netscape 4.x and IE on most any platform I have tried, the site looked OK. I have heard complaints about Opera mishandling the tables, but that's about it. Pretty sad for a non-free browser. Anyway, Could ya feed me some details?

Let's see...Renderosity's been around about two years, right? So that would make it like this... Previously: Win95 -- Netscape 4.5, Opera 2.6(?) and + Since this summer: Win98 SE -- Opera 3.61 I haven't seen any problem with the tables. The only hassle was that if an image was on R's site, I'd get bandwidth.gif instead of the actual image. The forums and Free Stuff kept me coming back in spite of the missing images. Lots of great people, info, and resources around here! And now I'll need to spend even more time...catching up on the galleries and store! :)

Heh heh. Be prepared to spend sometime at it... when I first joined, it took me a solid month of nothing but browsing just to hit all of the highlights of the "Most Viewed" and "Best rated" Thanks for sticking with it, in spite of the hassle that that must've been.
"I am a good person now and it feels... well, pretty much the same as I felt before (except that the headaches have gone away now that I'm not wearing control top pantyhose on my head anymore)"

Hmmm... Nothing out of the ordinary there. That is really odd. I'll do some more investigating in my copious spare time. Thanks for the info.
