Ive recently, received this email from the daz website, goes as follows
Dear DAZ Customers,
Our records indicate that you have purchased the David Bundle, ps_bn023, by DAZ Productions. This e-mail is to inform you that the Wedgecut Hairstyle in this product has been updated to work with Aiko 3 and the Young Teens. You can download the product again from your Account page until January 14, 2005. You can also download the updater from the Update Page in order to get the update. How ever I have never ordered this product, they also sent the same e-mail to my dads address and he too has not ordered this product. I did a check of my account just to be sure if anything was wrong, then tell daz there was a mistake.
However my account details state the truth, -that I've never ordered this product from them!
Is there something odd happening over at the daz website?
Has anyone else received this mystery e-mail?
Thanx for ya help

Me too. Previous day I received a similar scam format from PayPal suggesting that I had just purchased several hundred dollars worth of Christmas tree lights. If"If in errro kindly email us all your passwords and we will straigten out the matter!" PayPal has a fraud hot line. They got right back to me. Seems this fake invoice thing is the latest interent fraudulant tactic. At some point they will suggest that you to enter your personal passwords etc to straigten things out. Most certainly, the messages did not come from DAZ. DAZ sould also set up some kind of fraud direct email. Don't anther it might be a pather!

Yes, I got the same email and I hadn't bought this product either. But when I had a look at the available downloads in my account I found they had put 'Sassy Hair 2', which I purchased way back, in there. So I downloaded it again in case it had been updated (all 32Mb of it!).

sjkrotki , it was really from daz. was a simple clerical error. sent the update instead of the newsletter.
RHaseltine posted Tue, 11 January 2005 at 3:25 PM
Sent the update to the newsletter list rather than the prepared puchaser list. The right accounts were, however, reset so you're not going to snag a free david bundle :(. The updates are real.

I got another email with an apology for it "Dear Valued Customer, A product update notice was recently mailed informing users of an update to the David Bundle, ps_bn023. This notice was erroneously sent out to everyone instead of just to the customers who had purchased this item. If you do not see the David Bundle product (ps_bn023) in your Itemized Order History on your "My Account" page, then please ignore this email. If you have indeed purchased the David Bundle, and would like to receive the product update, then please follow the instructions as they were outlined in the recent mailing. We apologize for any confusion and the extra clutter to your inbox. We are investigating how this occured to help ensure that it doesn't happen again. Thank you, The DAZ Sales Support Team" I wonder if DAZ is going to go the route that CBS did with that memo foul-up. Heads might roll over this too.

Yer I got the apology e-mail too! Seems to be an honest simple mistake. Oh well since I love DAZ, I forgive them. ;)
