I understand the general principles involved: Using Dial Cleaner cleans out un-used morph dials. But exactly when do you use it? Before loading a figure in the working screen, or after? Injection Pose Builder (IPB) has IPB Prep poses. Again, this function removes un-needed morph dials and speeds up processing of your INJect and REMove Poses. When do you use them? Before loading a character or after? Thanks for your help.

I don't use Dial Cleaner, but I believe the IPB prep pose is applied to the figure before saving the cr2 file which will be used in IPB.

I use Dial Cleaner on a scene that I have already saved. Outside of Poser before I load the Poser Pro, I load the scene into Dial Cleaner, it returns, "4,737 dials have been removed" or words to that effect and then I start Poser and load the scene. It doesn't show up with a lot of empty dials. IBP, don't use it tons but I have successfully run it on characters I've created and want to store in the library. I'm sure DAZ has better info or tutorials about the whole IBP pipeline. So, short answer (but not as accurate): After. good luck

I don't use IBP so I don't know. You run dial cleaner every time after you save a mill 3 cr2 or a scene (pz3) containing a mill 3 character.

Thanks for your input. DAZ's documentation on IBP is pretty skimpy. In fact it does not mention that the IBP prep pose files are hidden in the support folder. Instead it states you already have them in your pose files for your characters.

Bobbie, 1) Create your character 2) Save your Character to your Library or some other safe place (important step) 3) Apply IBP pose, and save the character as some other name. 4) Run IBP, and import the character that you applied the IBP Pose to Why save twice? After you make your INJ/REM pose you want to delete the one that had the IBP Pose applied as it is basically usesless other than as input to IPB. You keep the original just for a backup, so I guess its optional but I recommend hanging onto a copy until you are completely happy with your INJ/REM set. Hope that helps! e.d.

Thanks for the answer. Let's see if I get it right. 1.) Save the original character. 2.) Apply IPB Prep, and save the results under another name (M3Prep, for instance) 3.) Run IPB, and save the INJ and REM poses Did I get it right? (I always save the original character, inside and outside Poser.)

You got it You may want to use Dial Cleaner on the original you saved, but you should not need to on the one you applied the IBP prep pose to.
