I like the left one better. The material on the Ring 3 somehow doesn't look like something suitable for a ring. Although it is a very good material, I have to say! As to the ideas... those little holders should hold the gem from the top, not sides, right?

Aye, Erlik, they hold the gem in from it's angles. The files are terribly accurate, down to sizing and spacing. The gems would work perfectly with fittings such as these. I've made a lot of jewelry in real life. I look forward to rapid prototyping my Rhino jewlery in a few months...

Cool looking rings. I want to know more about your rapid prototyping Rhino jewelry.

Groin, my lover's friend makes jewlery professionally, and when I showed her my Rhino demo she freaked out... Now she's in the process of getting money together for a prototyper, nothing HUGE, we'll still do it all in the lost-wax fashion. But, she did have the decency to get Rhino 2 for me, and now I'm using it for all of my modeling outside of Maya. Cool thing is, Rhino and Maya model almost identically, so my year with Rhino helped prep me for Maya. As we get closer to purchasing the prototyper, I'll make it very available to all of us. It will be a lot of fun! It's not just a dream... It's going to happen within a year.

Then you'll have to buy Rhino 4 when it comes out. You'll be able to do some crazy things with space morph and stuff.
