Has anyone out there tried outputting a poser figure to a CNC milling machine? One should be able to carve a figure in wood, or marble, or wax for metal casting.

I had heard of people trying to make plastic action figures in a similar way, but I don't know if they were successful.

heyas; i'm pretty sure i've seen this somewhere... i THINK it had to do with rhino. but this actually involved doing a boolean with a cube to cut a mold. i dunno nothin about no cnc milling machine. why wouldn't it work?

I think what bloodsong is talking about is in #D Artist Magazine Issue #42. The author of the article made a "goblin" with Carrara and Poser, then took the head into Rhino to convert it to an STL file so it could be made into a wax model for lost wax casting. The URL for the company that does the wax model making is http://www.protoshape.com
