What's More Important the Model or the Texture Map? I need a good horse, and I am having a hard decision deciding which is more realistic. The Millenium Horse is by far a better model, but the texture maps are not so good. The Poser horse Model is awful, but the Poser 4 Horse Textures by Moonrose are excellent! If I could combine Moonrose's textures with the Millenium Horse that would be the best, but I don't think that would work because the Millenium Horse is bigger than the Poser Horse. What would you do go for the better model or the better texture maps? How difficult is it to paint or create my own texture maps for the Millenium Horse. Can this be done in Photoshop, Poser or Daz Studio? Thx

Isn't that what UVMapper is for?

Have you looked in the DAZ store - there's a lovely set of textures by Moonrose for the Mil. Horse so you could have the best of both worlds. The textures are in a DAZ folder, so I think it will be included as part of the current animal sale.

Thanks, I saw Moonroses textures and they are nice, but i still think Moonroses textures for the Poser horse look better. Can a Poser horse texture map be adjusted or altered to fit the larger Millenium Horse? Can Poser textures or other aftermarket textures like Moonroses be altered (Painted) using Photoshop and then brought back in to Poser? Sorry for the naievity but i don't currently own Poser. Also Bill what is UV Mapper? Thx

UV Mapper is the tool many people use to tell an object where to look on an image to get the texture for each face of the mesh: you could (in pronciple) remap the Mil Horse to look in the same places as the P4 Horse, but it would be hard work and possibly limited i usefulness. Using Photoshop you could, with the clone, transform and liquify tools, push the P$ horse maps to fit the Mil Horse templates, but the quality would suffer in the process. Either approach would be a lot of work (though remapping would need to be done only once, and could be shared).

You can download templates for the millenium horse at the link, these can be used to make your own textures for the millenium horse using almost any paint program like photoshop, paintshop pro etc.
