Hi everyone, One of my new year's resolutions was to start the production of my 4-minute 3D short film. I devoted the last six months to pre-pro for the script, storyboard and character design. I know it's hard but I'm want to finish it before summer. I'll be glade to document here the making of the film as it progresses. The short film will be produced using, Eovia - Carrara 4 PRO, Adobe - AE 6, Sony - Acid Pro 5, Digidesign - Protools and Avid - Avid Xpress pro V4.5.

The image is really great! I'm really curios how long the computer will take to render this. -Kix

Thanks a lot. I appreciate all the support from you guys. Kix, will be hard to calculate the render time because every scene will be rendered in parts and than composite on after effects so this way I'll have more control to make changes and have no need to render the whole scene again. Claudio

I like your use of depth of field for the image. (Thought a little heavy...) Is this C? Or After Effects?

claudiomil posted Wed, 19 January 2005 at 1:08 PM

Hi bluetone, this image was a compositing test using AE.

Thanx! I hope you don't mind a few more questions: How did you break-up the scene? Would you happen to have a screen-capture of which parts were which? How are you going to deal with who is in front of who, especially during an animation where things go in front and behind other things? Thanx in advance for your insight. :D

Hi bluetone, I'll document later on the forum the making of the film as it progresses and it will include screen-shots. I think you'll like to visit DVGarage's tutorials and learn more about compositing.
