I would keep the models in it. It is to dark to see them properly, you might want to had some soft lighting near them. The fire doesn't look right, you might like to try a vulmetric fire on a couple of spheres then lower the lights down to have them all set the same.
I have opinions of my own -- strong
opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

a really good texturing job, and yeah, you might need more ambient lighting :)

Yeah keep the models in. Think like a photographer. You'll need to set up at least a half dozen soft shadow, low ambient lighting to get the scene lit properly.

What drac an bandolin said - but remember, that scene would be pretty dark in real life, and that means there ain't gonna be a lot of ambient light shoot'n around. If you over-do the ambient thing, you'll probably get that superimposed "cardboard cutout" look, so go easy on it.
As for the models, yes I'd keep 'em, especially that bird in the red skirt :-P

More props! More props! Perhaps some paintings or wall-hangings? Some things on the mantel? The more props you create, the higher the level of realism... Also, the fire looks very little like fire... Perhaps re-work some materials? I made some pretty badass fire a few weeks ago, the link will show you... Email me if you want the material!Message edited on: 01/19/2005 02:24
