when i render a terragen image, on highest quality, some of it is pixelated (sorry 'bout the spelling) how do i make it smooth? and how do i do grass like effects and such?

the pixellation comes from the fact that you didn't put the slider to the very right-most (under the mini-preview screen). as for grass, you gotta make another child to the original texture, and color that green or whatever. bit of this and that involved, but you'll figure it out :D drac

I haven't had much experience with TG yet. But there seems to be a variety of resource out there. Here's the regular tutorials section from the main page here at Rosity. http://www.renderosity.com/tut.ez?Sectionid=12398 Terragen Site Resource page. http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/resources.shtml Great Resource Site. http://www.terrasource.net/ Let us know how you make out. just say you come from the bryce forum and want to make landscapes. they'll take pity on you and show you the ropes :D

Yes, we don't bite all that often. Your best bet is downloading the surface map guide from the planetside web site. Failing that, ask in the Terragen forum, but you need to bring coffee and croissants with you. Now I'm back to the TG forum, before someone finds out I'm in here.

Terragen images look nice, but I've never seen one with plants or grass. Not that interesting to me with all that barren rock and soil. If they do have plant life, hopefully I'll find one of those someday. ;)

TG is still a work in progress and there is the promise of TG2 later this year, with the ability to render millions of tress and rocks and all sorts of other very nice stuff.

Terragen was the first rendering program that I could ackshelly understand - the gui seemed beautifully logical compared to anything else I'd tried. And the surface texturing controls are a lot more understandable than the Bryce DTE, which I'll never master. Wish that Bryce had the atmosphere control that Terragen has, then it would be perfect :^) And the water in Terragen is beautiful as well. Bryce is more flexible, but once Terragen gets object import and a more controllable terrain editor it will kick ass!

Actually love the desolate landscapes TG can produce. Its a cool app, and TG2 will probably be even better. Wouldnt mind including it in my toolbox when its released. :)

What software isn't a work in progress? TG2 has high hopes riding on it. Looking forward to seeing what people say about it.
