You probably have the "index of refraction" set to the default setting 1,00. Try setting it to another value. And make sure you're using the 3delight renderer, not the OpenGL renderer.

Ok, try these settings: Diffuse color to black Glossiness and specular strength at 100% Specular color white Reflection color white Reflection strength 100% Index of refraction at 0 Lighting model glossy These settings should produce a perfect mirror.

Most 3d programs use black for the diffuse colour for mirrors. The specular colour doesn`t really matter, that just controls the shininess of the mirror.
