I have attached my latest attempt at a mirror reflection in DAZ|Studio (0.9.15.x for Mac OS). A faint reflection should be visible in the mirror. Which parameter values should I be using for the mirror surface?

There's an ongoing thread on the D|S forum over at DAZ regarding reflections and refractions. You might see if it has the info you're looking for:

You probably have the "index of refraction" set to the default setting 1,00. Try setting it to another value. And make sure you're using the 3delight renderer, not the OpenGL renderer.

Here's another rendering of the same scene, with a somewhat stronger reflection. Still not what I'm trying to achieve, though,

Ok, try these settings: Diffuse color to black Glossiness and specular strength at 100% Specular color white Reflection color white Reflection strength 100% Index of refraction at 0 Lighting model glossy These settings should produce a perfect mirror.

Thanks, cuba. This is the only feature of DAZ|Studio I never quite figured out. It never occurred to me to use black for the diffuse color and white for the specular color on the mirror. I cropped the picture to keep it under Renderosity's 200KB limit.

Most 3d programs use black for the diffuse colour for mirrors. The specular colour doesn`t really matter, that just controls the shininess of the mirror.
