Iam trying to make a helmet for the poser guy, and make it conforming. I know i can make it a smart prop and I know I can parent it to the head but Iam trying to practice making conforming objects. Ive tried all the tuts and still can't seem to get the item to conform. What am I doing wrong.

At work right now, will post tonight. Here is what I have done. Created the helmet, renamed its parts to relate to the poser part names. Then I imported the helmet as an obj. into poser. The next task was to spawn it and then open the joint parms. I did this to match the parms with the poser male. This should then move the item to match the position of the actual body structure. It doesnot. All it does is sit at the poser hip. what have I missed or done wrong.

When you import the helmet (no boxes checked) it should arrive correctly positioned in the Poser workspace. That is correctly positioned relative to the figure's OBJ file NOT the figure as it arrives from the library. The library figure contains off sets.

So when I import the object, do not move it at all? If I do it will not be positioned correctly relative to the fig. Is this right. If so this may be the problem. When I import the object I have been moving it. I will try it at home tonight and see what happens

I've never been able to make a helmet conform to the head, the best you can do is smartparent it or treat it as a hair prop. -JH.
