Hello, I'm planning a trip to New-York City (Manhattan). Can you recommend me some store to buy softwares like Poser 5. Thanks

Possibly J and R, which is very famous. It is located not far from the WTC site and Wall Street and City Hall. This is a GREAT computer/electronics store. I visited all three of those places last summer. They have a website. Link attached. In addition to them, there are probably any number of guerilla (and I don't mean illegal) computer stores in Manhattan. ::::: Opera :::::

I'm almost certain I've seen P5 there (J&R). Very few places to buy 3D apps in NYC. BTW beware of the electronics stores on 5th Ave - they prey on tourists. Enjoy your visit, there are so many things to do here.

Best pizza: Famous Rays, corner of 6th Avenue (tourist name - 'Avenue of the Americas') and 11th street. Best Deli experience in the world: Katz's Delicatessen 205 East Houston Street (at Ludlow) ::::: Opera :::::

Ooooh, if only you can reserve tickets to see "The Lion King". We got the tickets six months in advance, and it was worth the wait!

I spent an Hour in line at 1/2 Price Tickets booth in front of the W Times Square & The Virgin Record Store (Broadway and 47th).

Got a pair of tickets for Beauty and the Beast for the Orchestra section. Good seats too for under $100.

Ok, to swing this back on topic, after you get out of a Broadway show you'll be inspired to render some scenes with your new copy of Poser 5. ;-)

while you are at J and R to purchase poser, also purchase an AMD 3500+ with 4GigRam and dual 73Gig Raptor in Raid-0 configuration. Any video card will do! ::::: Opera ::::: P.S. Then go to Katz's Deli to celebrate.

any excuse to go to N.Y. is a good one. as for street vendors, one wonderful situation is the fruit cart vendors....man they are all over the place and they have some darn fine stuff. I really mean it. Reasonable prices. ::::: Opera :::::

Watch out for some nameless guy on Times Square.

He'll whisper urgently to you......"Hey, buddy! Buddy!"

Once he's gotten your attention -- then he'll give you a sly wink, open up his overcoat -- and reveal a dirty, scuffed-up box containing Poser 5.

Whatever you do, don't buy it from him!

Awwww, man -- does this mean that I am going to have to travel to New York City in order to purchase Poser 6, when it comes out?

Traveling through the South Bronx after midnight can be an interesting experience. In the Chinese sense of "interesting".

Something To Do At 3:00AM

I used to spend my summers in NY... I don't know any of the software merchants there though there is a awesome little chinese place not far from the W Times square. Then the Blue Fin in the W is wild... Can you tell I know the W hotel well? ::only work for their parent company so I've been there before..::

Thanks for all! My first idea is to get some fun in NY (one week) and THEN buy Poser 5! My english is not so perfect so I'll let the South Bronx travel for another time!

Try CompUSA on 57th street. Or J&R like everyone suggested. It's a little chilly here right now though, so bundle up.
