me too bobby

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

The better option would be the ability to change it once the thread has wandered off course.

I would like a choice in the matter so my inbox doesn't fillup with a hundred replies from a thread. I like being able to not receive a zillion replies at once in my box. :)

I like the notifications because I don't have the time to check the board for new messages. Best, Edward

I only get one ebot even though there may be 100 new posts to it, till I come and look then after that I will get a new ebot stating more activitity but only one at a time, not for everypost. I would also like to see a stop watching this topic option as well

I voted, but the poll question itself could be reworded a little better for a more accurate vote.

IndigoSplash posted Sat, 29 January 2005 at 12:50 PM

It seems like everytime there's a poll like this, it's worded in such a weird way that I'm sure people who missed the discussions leading up to the poll will be confused as to the poll's intent. ;)

If you have specific suggestions, I'm open to listening ;-) Suggestions are always welcome. Thanks, Lillian

The way it seems to work for me is if I ignore the ebots for a thread I don't want to follow anymore, I stop getting them fairly quickly. I guess I don't post enough to get flooded in the things. What I would like is to be able to set the default in my profile, the way I set my other preferences, rather than thread by thread.

wyrwulf posted Sun, 30 January 2005 at 7:19 PM

Would it be possible to make e-bot notification a per user option, set on the member profile page? Cross-posted with dialyn

Here are the results of the e-bot notification poll:

282 members responded to the following question:

Forum Ebot Notifications - Default Setting
With regards the Forums area, we would like to know: When creating or replying to a post in the forums, do you want to automatically get ebots when someone replies to your posts, or threads you commented on?

Of that:
71.6%: Yes-"Email me when someone replies" is selected
28.4%: No-"Email me when someone replies" is not selected

Based on the results of the poll, we will leave the default settings alone for now.

If you think we should run the poll again, with different wording (as was previously mentioned) please post your proposed wording suggestions and we can see about giving it another go.

Thanks,
LillianH

okay, but then @renderosity.com is still blacklisted then. getting marked as a spamming domain with all the ebot messages being rejected. ~g~
