Hello all, I've saved my money up (after buying all of the poser essentials) and I am wanting to buy my first scenery prop/s. I am looking for an allrounder "outdoor" scene, some thing that can be used over and over again. It has to be quite versatile...I am thinking of something like a ruin, or something that contains plants. A sky would also be prefered. Anyone have any suggestions on a good poser environment? Thankyou

Tons of excellent Setting sets available. If I had to pick just one to buy for myself, I'd probably pick one of the TransPond sets, like the Dark Lords Realm - SO many little details to use in 100s of different scenes. Check out TramsPond's selection at RuntimeDNA. http://www.runtimedna.com/

As a base environment I'd recommend RuntimeDNA Microcosm - a very versatile ground/rocks package. Lots of free addons too. RuntimeDNA also has a great collection of well made plants, grasses and trees. The Temple Ruins at DAZ are beautifully made and highly detailed. If you're a Platinum club member, it'll cost only $1.99. If you go shopping at DAZ, check out the plants made by Lisa Buckalew. Very good and detailed. Anything made by Danie and Marforno is always very good and well worth the money. They excel at buildings, often medieval style. Check out their freebies too, they can give you a wonderful start for $0.-! Hope this helps, Steven.

In addition to the Microcosm look at Harvey Mann's 3D worlds kit, it's really nice, has a great sky, and I use it along with the Micro Cosm planes; check out rDNA's plants (transpond and traveler), very nice :)

Ive just looked at the RDNA MicroCosm 2.0 - Multi-Terrain Set, I want it, however it mentions poser 5, will it work in Poser Pro? Thankyou

I used it in ProPack long before I went to Poser 5. Works just fine :)

I have never been able to Microcosm 2.0 to work... it works... I just can't figure out how to make a scene from it. A real bummer purchase for me... have gotten more use from cyclorama and especial the Woodlands evironment at DAZ.

depends on what you mean. There's some background utilities (Infinity Cove over at Runtime DNA), the useful, though ubiquitous props from Awful Soul (simple to use, even I managed..;), and a wealth of them in Frebies. Daz 3d has Level 19 Cargo doors in Freestuff, worth checking out.

Infinity Cove is a very simple prop, but useful. The DAZ 3D Millenium Environment has a variety of add-on texture sets, mostly available at Platinum Club prices, and is a very flexible outdoor setting. And even if you just load and go you can get good results. For buildings. check http://www.george.3dbeast.com/ There's several useful scenery props in the Daz freestuff, such as the park bench and the patio set.

momodot; Traveler just posted a beta tutorial in the MicroCosms forum you might want to try. It covers using multiple MCs to create a scene. I've just posted some free photo textures for Infinity Cove3 in the free stuff forum at RDNA too.

3DWorldz - V2 is a wonderful set: a complete little world with lots of detail. Version 3 is a bit of a disappointment, too cartoony for my taste, Version 2 is wonderful, especially in combination with Microcosm.

I love microcosm it is very versatile but it does take a lot of work to get it dressed up and morphed into place. Its kinda like having another character to set up. I dont want to discourage anyone from getting it, but it isnt just a drop in place and render. Ascinct, I would suggest going to RNDA, in the free section is a skydome and some textures. Its not a complete solution, but it is a good tool and it is free.
