Hi...I just checked my purchase history and there is a link for Updated Products and I have quite a few in there. Does this mean that I need to download and reinstall all of these products in the Update Product list again to get the full advantage of the product? Thank you! Barbara

Melory posted Sun, 30 January 2005 at 3:17 AM

yes it does :) But, for instance, you don't have steph petite and the update is just an update for her then you wouldn't need the update. Check out each product and see if what has been updated is something you need.

Thank you Melory!

Whoa, is this something new? I never heard of it before. I don't recall ever getting an email notification of the update. I went there just now, and one product was listed, but there was no download link. We should have some sort of explanation that states when the update was issued, and what it is for.

Bobbie, Each time an update is made an E-Mail is sent out from the merchant to all previous buyers with information of why there was an update. FYI, Clint

Clint, I told you that I've never received any such update emails. Now perhaps you can try to figure out why I haven't, rather than doubting my original statement?

ClintH posted Mon, 31 January 2005 at 2:07 PM

I'm not doubting your statement. A lot of ISP's block E-Mails these days and a lot of end users have filters set that filter E-Mails. The E-Mails leave our server in fine shape. After that I cant control what happens to them. Clint

Clint, I received this eBot notification, so we know my ISP is not at fault. Now tell me, do you have a backup way of notifying your customers, since your method clearly is not reliable? Might I suggest a Products Update Forum? That way we could easily see which products had been updated, withoud wading through other unrelated messages.

No.

Our method is very reliable. If you missed the update notification simply contact the merchant directly for the info.
Thanks,
Clint

Clint, I'm really surprised at your responses. I've never received any update notices on any Renderosity product. Now tell me, how would I know what updates I've missed? So how would I know who to contact? I'd hoped for a more positive response to a genuine customer concern. This certainly will affect my buying decisions in the future. One would think a more positive reponse would be an attempt to personally provide update information. I ask you again to reconsider your method of notifications, and your responses.

Clint, I already did that, as stated in my first message. I'm done here.

Actually that should have read your Purchase History page .. not Shopping Cart. Sorry about that. Clint

Clint, when did you start posting that update information? Has it been going on for the past several years? How long does that information stay there? I've been frustrated because in this case, both Renderosity, and one merchant in question failed to notify me of updates. When I inquired, I received less than ideal responses. That is not acceptable to me.

ClintH posted Mon, 31 January 2005 at 4:52 PM

It was implemented 6-12 months ago. I'm sorry that my response was not acceptable. What can I do to help with your updates. I'm willing to do what I can. I look forward to hearing back from you. Clint

Clint, you've been extremely supportive in the past, with me, and many others. At least now I have a better idea concerning updates, and know where to look. You might be interested to note that DAZ now includes updates announcements in their forums, due to an email I sent about the subject.

Hi Clint, Thanks for all of your help this morning. I downloaded and reinsalled all 30 of the updated products. I never got any mailings in regard to updated products either and just happened to see the link at the top of my Purchase page and wondered what it was. I kind of just stumbled upon it. I got all of my other mailings from Rosity like the Newsletter and items on sale that I have in my wishlist and new products from my favorite merchants. Do you have any idea why I would not have received the update notices? It's really no big deal now that I know where to look for the updates so I will check it once a week or so but it would be nice to know exactly what the specific update is so I would know whether I would need it or not. Any ideas on why I would get all the other mailings but not the update mailings? Thank you! Best, Barbara

Ps....I checked my Profile page and all boxes are marked "yes" as far as all options go.

ClintH posted Mon, 31 January 2005 at 5:13 PM

Hi Barbara, Good news. "Any ideas on why I would get all the other mailings but not the update mailings?" No idea. I get all the update notifications when they are sent out via E-Mail.. I also have to approve them before they are sent out so I know they are going out to previous buyers. E-Mail/ISP's has become a interesting thing recently. Clint

Clint, what's the date of the last update for CRPRo? I may already have it, but want to be sure. hogwarden has provided some updates on his site that were not reflected in the most recent update I'd downloaded here.

dlk30341 posted Mon, 31 January 2005 at 6:05 PM

I've never gotten an E-mail regarding product updates either..I just happened upon the box 1 day & saw I had tons to re-download.

ClintH posted Mon, 31 January 2005 at 6:17 PM

Bobbie, The file date on our server is Mar 31, 2004 and the filename is HogsoftCRPro1_0_2_12bR_UD_27516.zip I hope this helps. Clint

Clint, I suggest you and hogwarden initiate some sort of communication. I checked his site, and got the following info. Note, he released some updates since that date, in one of his forums. "8th November 2004: CRPro 1.0.2.12 update released"

I just checked my update page and I think I know why we all haven't been notified for some of these updates. Most of the items that are in my update are were updated BEFORE I purchased them. For some reason it's automatically putting anything that has ever been updated no matter when I bought it in there. And I know this for a fact because I purchased Russell for M3 and it said right on the page that it had been updated, the pose folder it's in is called Russell Updated, yet there it sits in my updates page. Might want to have someone look into this cause it's rather confusing. It's making everyone think they need to redownload stuff when the really don't.
