Well, I'm totally excited. I am rendering an awesome file today. Should last one day until it's finished. Why am I excited? I am using a texture that looks like a frickin' terrain very close up. I've zoomed in so close that it reveals details like modelled with heighmaps. But it's only a sphere mapped with a procedual texture. Stay tuned. :-) Jimi

Now that is one great texture.

Zhann, the texture is a freebie from Dan Raub. I used the same in "The Escher Effect" as a background. :-) I will post the final version this evening, also a wireframe shot. J.

Rightyright. I've pushed up the specularity a lot, raised the bump and added some reflection. :) J.

Metaballs, Zhann. They were left from a previous experiment. But it should work with a sphere the same way.

I did the same as you, and this didn't happen to me. Mindyou I download files to a disc partition, not onto my desktop.

I dl, to a file folder, nothing changed on my desktop, I'd never dl to the desktop, too many things could happen if something is tagging along...

You might want to try refreshing the desktop. I tend to have that problem sometimes when windows runs out of memory.

I just gotta know, is there a trick to getting the wood guy to look like he's got mud smeared on him? Which BTW looks excellent! :-D
derjimi posted Wed, 02 February 2005 at 4:56 PM
You could put small rocks on his hands and texture it with mud - would look cool. btw: THANKS for voting me into the Hot 20! :-)
