I know it sounds kinda hokey, but I have been listening to the Harry Potter books on tape (The books are too long for my 6 year old who is just learning to read) and have been turning the idea over in my mind of starting to work on a Harry Potter type character, but he needs an owl to go with. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Owls are popular today. Debra Ross has a free one at http://home.wmis.net/~dross/models/models.htm She also has one for sale, along with many other models.jschoen posted Fri, 05 January 2001 at 12:04 PM
The one by Debra is fine for a distant render. The texture is quite nice. But for a close up it just doesn't make it. it is a lumpy mesh that works well again as I said as a figure in the distance. Dedicated Digital claims to have one on the Animal CD $149.00 (pricy) http://www.dedicateddigital.com/ I have e-mailed them to ask if they indeed had it and would be willing to sell it separately. No answer from them at all, and it's been awhile since I asked :( James PS. I too am into the whole Harry Potter craze ;-) I did a Harry portrait in a previous thread. Search for Harry Potter.
