Subject: Splash Effects

How do I make it look like something is 1. droped into the water, and 2. like something is comeing out of the water, EX something flying out of the water? Thnx for your help, later all.

What I did was went to poser free stuff and downloaded the Splatter packs and manipulated them accordingly. Here is a small example of what I did in a few pics.

Pretty good. BUt what i meant was what happens when you drop like a large stone/boulder, into a pond or something from above and it creates a large splash, or like when a whale crashes down into the water. What im trying to do here is make it look like something is flying out of the water really fast. Thnx

Well you would have to take a terrain and modify it for the hole in the water, applying a water texture. For the solid wall of displacement, I would probably model it in Rhino or Max. And for the droplets surrounding the splash, just like proteus did. Its hard to get the water to look like it goes to the horizon when using terrain instead of planes. You have to surround your main terrain with the splash on it by other flat terrains to hide the edges. Do this from a side view so you can line the edges of the different terrains up. The picture here has the displacement but no hole in the water. I modeled the displacement wave in Rhino.
