Since yesterday I have not been able to use the "Save for Web" function. I use Photoshop Elements 2.0.0.0 The popup is the attached image. I have even tried duplicating the image to rename it. Still get the messaage. I love this feature and use it many times daily. Anyone know??? Maybe a reinstall?

Did you try saving a "copy" of the original as a new name, "open that" and then export for the web?

Yes I did try that. Stilll get the message. Happens on every image I try it with. Guess I have to uninstall and re install.

I should state that this is only when I try to preview it in the browser. I have tried both IE and Firefox. It will let me save for the websize,but not view it.

You could always try to select edit list and browse to IE again.

Can't find that option!

The pulldown in the save for web to right of default browser icon. IE is probably the default. Pulldown also has Other and Edit List.

I guess not on mine...

Your preferences file might be corrupt. You can either delete it and recreate it or reinstall Photoshop. I find that when PS all of a sudden acts funny, it's because of that.

I did uninstall it then reinstall,and it is the same thing. Almmost like it remembered everything. Somewhere there must be a file written on HD that keeps adobe info,because after reinstall, even my most recent images came back up. Might have to do something with registry.

Time to check your preferences file, then. It might not write over itself in the install.

Not sure about this preference file. I see nothing to reference that by in there. My thinking is that even if I was to buy PSE 3 or even the plunge to CS my operating system would remember adobe files and this would happen always...unless I reformat. I have another PSE 2.0 that came with my wacom I installed on my other PC and it works just fine.

the preference file (Prefs.psp) is located in the Documents and Settings/[user profile]/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop/[version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings folder...

whenever things start acting screw-bally on me i like to force Photoshop to create a new preference file by holding down the Shift-Ctrl-Alt when i launch.

a lot of time whenever PS gets all WONKY, tossing the "prefs" file fixes it up (and it's a lot less painful than "re-installing" PS)

Hmmmm easily found prefs now. tossed it Got rid of some old demo folders which I never seen before from when I tried out Go Live... and Album. Stilllllll I get this message. Must be an operating system thing. Ever since I tried out Adaware things got so screwy. Deleted that prog. I'm pretty sure I got rid of some important files with adaware. Spybot lets you see what you are tossing. Never had more problems since running a spyware prog. So I'm fed up... will re format next week. New New new!
