d'oh! too late!..the local's gonna have a fit with me..;) Yeah, Wings is a good start. Go to the Modeling forum here, under topic forums, and there's a few freebie programs there. Also try Blender, which takes some getting used to, but can do a lot of modeling. Silo's good, but not free (had to throw that in there..;)

trueSpace 4 is on some magazine disc trueSpace 3 is available for free on the net. gMax is a good (great) modeller and you can get meshs out of it. BTW I custom model what are you looking for?

I have been using poser for about three years now, but the art of modeling figures in programs like raydream, continues to evade me. PLEASE HELP ME!! I am trying to do some animated shorts, but I can't seem to build characters outside of stacking together morphed versions of primitives within poser. This works okay, but uses a hell of a lot of polys. Plus, I can't get things exactly as I want them. If anyone knows where to get comprehensive tutorials on the subject, or can custom model cheap or free, please hook me up. Thanks.
