Just a simple post. I love that DAZ 3D is continuing the tradition of a FREE model every week. KOOL. But sometimes you just need to tweak some things. It has always been hard to work around mapping that tends to give that stretched out look. No fault to anyone. It just happens with certian mappings. So I have remapped the Ornate chair with a box mapping for the seat, which eliminates the stretched look on the front, back and sides, but adds a little bit of uneveness which is fine with a busy texture, but may look funny with something like stripes. Anyway it's just a little fix I did to make this chair look a little bit better in a render. Note: It is a PCF file so you WILL have to have already downloaded the FREE chair from DAZ 3D. James PS: I hope I did the PCF file correctly.

Wow, I didn't see the DAZ original yet but this one you posted is absolutely the nicest chair of its kind I've seen. You say you used the box mapping scheme: do you know what it was that gave the bad results? One would think that box would be the only way to go with something like this. . .

I just downloaded your fix and tried it. Everything worked like a charm. Thanks. It looks like they planar mapped the whole thing, which would cause problems like this.

Thanks wywulf. I wasn't sure that I had gotten the whole PCF thing correct. My first time. James
