In honor of the month I love, this old spinster lady offers this theme....romance or love: past, current, future; lost or found; real or fantastical. You can use any software, or combination of software. It doesn't have to be a Valentine...you can ponder love's illusion or its reality in any context (conforming to TOS, of course)...even those improbable matchings that would make someone go "huh?" Or the love of something intangible as a concept...of art, of nature, of loyality, or what? Surprise me.
BTW, this is NOT my entry...it's just a little interlude to get you started.
:)
Have fun!!

Very topical topic. Sorry about not taking part in the Jan one, I just wasn't resolute enough.

It really helps to post the graphics (at least a version) to the thread so that, when the voting starts, we don't have to jump back and forth between links. Just a suggestion.
Rimrunner will have to speak to the age of the graphics. He be the boss. :)

From the forum FAQ: Q Can I post an old image of mine? A You can, but then thats not much of a challenge is it. While you may already have an image that is perfect for the theme of the challenge, I would suggest either re-working it, or even making a new one. The whole point here is to push your artistic abilities. Reach for something new and exciting, while still having fun. I intend to make something new (time-providing)... I was merely making an attempt at humor (and plugging some old images :o)

I'm so glad we got a writer to join in. :) Thank you, garblesnix.

Thanks, dialyn.
Also, if there is an artist out there that would like to submit an image of their vision of Naomi, I would be honored...and ever so slightly aroused 8^}
I will include it at the Writers Gallery, along with all appropriate credit and praise.

OK FW...I was only asking!

It's okay to ask, chloe. That's how we find out things. :) I really like your graphic, by the way. It's a moving tribute to lasting love.

Thanks Dialyn, I did it last year for my other half. It's 2nd time around for us both, and as we appear to be very much "chalk and cheese" a lot of people were sceptical. We have been together now since 1989, and in that time have only spent about 6 nights apart, and that was only because of the animals and a very neccessary and extremely sad trip to Ireland for me. Even then we kept in touch by phone. I have done a new one for this year, but as I have entered it in the PlanIT3d contest I can't post it here. I will try to do another one. BTW....He will be 63 this year and I will be 60, so Valentines day is not just for the youngsters :-) Cheers Pam

OK cho... I was only providing an answer and saving dialyn the trouble of asking RR a question that was already answered... nothing derogatory was meant toward you.... hence, the smilies and the statement about making an attempt at humor.

Wow. :) Two written submissions in one month. Very cool. Animations: Yes, those are ok, but you'll have to link to it, or if you can compress it down into an animated gif, you can also include an in-forum posting. Re-posted works: the message FW posted was a quote from the FAQ for the forum. :) Yes, you can use a prior work, though is it suggested to try a new one, or a reworking of the original. :)

Thank you for joining in, Da3dalus. Quite a strong poem.
Da3dalus posted Fri, 11 February 2005 at 2:00 PM
Thank you dialyn.
It was a very difficult poem to write and I battled with it for several months. However, I felt that I needed to put this poem behind me and move on with my writing. It is now a case of the writer distancing himself from his work and looking back on it as objectively as possible.
It is my first entry into any competition and I wanted it to be something special.

For me it was a very difficult poem to read. Very moving, it moved me to tears because it struck such chords in my soul. I am still recovering from a personal tragedy, and I would actually hate to think what it was that caused you to write this, it obviously came from the heart.

Thank you chohole.
This might sound like a clich but to know that my poem moved someone is reward enough for all the struggles I had in writing it.
