Hello there.:-)
Sometimes I think I want make Poser works as a 3d builder scenics. But... I can try..
I am still playing to have mood and effects on my scenics. I didn't have many success with lights (filters). So, I am trying to put vertical planes (including "curved" ones) with some transparency. They are 2 situations: one where I want apply foregrounds, making layers over my main background, and I need transparency for that. I tried make my transparency on PS 7, as png, but it lost trasnparency when applying on my vertical plane.
The second situation is apply textures trasnparency as well, something like clouds giving a fog effect (just an example).
I wish is not impossible do that. Any help will be very apreciated. Thank you very much in advance,
aniela

You don`t use an alpha channel for transparency mapping in poser. You add the map like the picture shows, you should set transparency to 1 (so it will work) and set transparency falloff to zero.

Thank you very much for your reply. I was feeling alone in the dark..

I will try it and also what you said about light at my mood effects question ( I confess is not very clear to me..)

Now, I know what I was doing wrong: I set up transparency to 100 (thinkng is % as other graphic programs)

Thank you a lot again.:-)

For most settings 1 is the equivalent of 100% About the mood lighting to make light filters you just add the image to the colour node of the light and it will then work. I meant that you don`t have to use a png to make the transparency the map I used is a jpg the white parts are opaque and the black parts are transparent and the grey parts are partially transparent. I hope that this helps...

Sure its a big help.:-) I cannot wait to finish my bryce render (almost 5 hours rendering already) and start my scenic on Poser to try all your tips.:-)

With bryce, not making the antialiasing too "good" a setting can speed renders up quite a bit.

Believe me or not.. my render finished about 10 minutes ago: the water plane spent time to render. Now, I am doing another render without water plane on top because I think I can have better results on Poser. In fact I am still trying background pictures. I noticed that I loose some effects when using as maps- that happened to my first poser pic. I noticed too that is not a good thing make a post-work on my image before apply it on Poser. At least for this one I am doing (still mermaid and undersea ). I don't tried other scenics, not yet.
Its very good to know someone who works with bryce and Poser too. In fact, you are the first one I know.:-)
Thank you very much once more and I will send a IM to you when I post it on my gallery.:-)
cheers,
aniela
