This was one of the more impressive tips we got Sunday...

A nice way to dodge and burn: create a new layer by going to Layer New Layer. In the resulting dialog box choose a blend mode of Overlay and check fill with 50% gray. Choose a soft brush tool, opacity about 20% (in Brush Options tool bar at top), blend mode normal. Foreground color black will allow you to burn (darken), foreground color white lets you dodge (lighten). Foreground/Background color is set at the bottom of the Tool palette.
