using the model in an asassination clip i hope

I don't think there are any morphs to change the part. Someone here showed me how to make an "invert" morph for Koz's hair, that flipped the part to the other side, but I don't know if it would work on the Egypt Hair.

Nice commment anxcon! LOL, no not this time but you still might find what I'm doing interesting, I hope!
randym77, well there must be a way because if you look at the promo pics for Egypt Treasures and Egypt Stylez, you will see quite clearly that its been done. So the only real question is how. Thanks, anyway!

Are you sure those weren't just "flopped" in Photoshop? They are just texture packages, near as I can tell, and don't include morphs. The Egypt Hair and Egypt Hair Steps images all show the part on the same side. If it were possible to change the side the part is on, I would think they'd show it in those packages.

I'm not sure about the law in this case, but it might be a violation of U.S. statutes to depict a living president in an assassination scene. At any rate, it would probably prompt a visit by the Secret Service, which would be pretty unpleasant for everyone concerned.

American law is crazy.

You have no idea how crazy :)

well...this is getting away from my original question but since we're on the subject my reason for wanting a character resembling President Bush was to make a commentary about implications of some of the things his supporters are doing and also to make a statement about some of the legal problems I'm facing as a direct result of people with his mentality.

Why don't you IM the people who made Egypt Treasures? Ask them if there's a morph for moving the part to the other side, or if they just mirrored some of their promo renders.

I guess that if you own a 3D app (perhaps free Wings3D or whatever) you can open the hair obj in it and use symmetry to get a mirrored copy. This you could reimport as the polycount is the smae. Problem is that you would also have to flip the UVmap.
I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

Link is to the post where someone explained how to make a mirror morph within Poser. Basically, you turn it inside out, then reverse the normals. The image is Male Hair 5, mirrored and rescaled a bit. (Texture is Koz's blond texture, desaturated.) Dunno if it would work with the Egypt hair, but it might be worth a shot.

Ok..here's an interesting problem! I took Randy's suggestion about the mirror morph and tried following the steps described in the link however when I got to the point where it asked about checking the box only As Morph Target, no World Transf, Poser will not let me put a check in the box. Whenever I try clicking on it nothing happens. This is also true of all the other boxes without any checks already in them. I can remove checks already in boxes but I can't add checks to boxes without them. Hopefully that will make sense to somebody!! Does this sound like a bug in the program or did I do something wrong ???? HELP!!! lol

It's a bug. Try right-clicking on the Windows clock (the one in the lower right corner of your screen). Click on Adjust Date/Time. Then cancel without actually adjusting anything. Then see if you can put a check in the box.
Yes, it's weird, but it seems to work. (This tip courtesy of Sharen of Sams3d.)

Second pic looks like a cross between Conway Twitty and Senator Kerry :)
Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

Randy..you've been such a big help!! I really appreciate it. So far just about eveything you've suggested has worked. I tried selecting the time/adjust like you said and it does seem to work some of the time but its hit or miss. In addition, I was able to successfully save the morph target but then when I tried loading like it says in Step 5 I get a error message saying "target geometry has wrong number of vertices". Not sure what could be causing that but perhaps its a mistake on my part. Anyway, write back if you can!
randym77 posted Sat, 12 February 2005 at 6:03 PM
Maybe it just doesn't work with the Egypt Hair. It's such a complex model.
You could try IMing Engelken, and asking him about it. Or start another thread here in the forum. This one is so far down now that most people won't see it.
