Say you have a psd of red roses....I know how to copy it onto an image, but how can I change the color of the roses?

You can do an adjustment layer and play with Hue/Saturation, Selective Color, Channel Mixer etc.

The Adjust ->'replace color' command can be very helpfull too, I sometimes forget that it exist, while it can work VERY fast. But why should you change the color of red roses, especially now it's Valentine's day and all?

...to make "black" roses??? also a good way is to create a new layer, paint over top the rose petals and experiment with the different blend modes. sorry can't remenber which mode i used (had to do the same thing but on a "tie"), the meds are still clouding the mind and making me tired more often... retrocity

I like this because it's just cute. And may be useful depending on the composition of your image.

So, here are paint cans.

Add a new layer above it, "grab" the brush and choose a color. I chose blue and painted over the red. Not caring a whole lot about where I painted...

ChuckEvans posted Wed, 16 February 2005 at 9:47 AM

Then I changed that layer of blue I just painted to a mode of "Hue"...

What do you mean by "changed that layer of blue I just painted to a mode of "Hue?"" Real quick: How can I change an Adobe document to a JPEG, and then a JPEG to a thumbnail for upload? Thanks.

retrocity posted Sun, 20 February 2005 at 6:46 AM

quickest way... Save for Web (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S)

...for thumbnail, i set my "Crop" tool for the size (between 50 x 50 and 200 x 200 pixels) and crop the image to something interesting. Then do the same Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S)
