That looks like you need service pack 4.1, don't forget the figures updater too.

If that doesn't solve it, I'd try reducing or bypassing hardware acceleration for the video card next.

See the row of icons at the bottom left of your Poser window .. the row of spheres? You've got it set so that Poser has to apply the actual texture map to your model in Preview mode. In real time. That's no prob for a top end video card and a 3D program with an efficient approach to displaying stuff, but Poser isn't efficient. If you select the display mode 3 from the right, you'll get nice edges and a clear view of your model, but without the texture showing all the time (except when you render). I bet you get the odd display after posing your character for a while .. Poser and your machine can't keep up, so background stuff gets ignored as it's less vital. Another trick for removing odd display errors is to minimise Poser, open a non-memory-intensive prog like Wordpad, close it, then maximise Poser again. Doesn't always work, but worth trying. And save your work often! Good luck.

Oh, couple of other things. Try not to have so many progs running in the background. And if you haven't got one, go get a RAM cleaner. I use RamIdle, but there are several other excellent free apps around. They clear any unused Ram as you're working.

I have a top notch video card and enough ram to run it with no prob. Beside's it STILL does this even if I have nothing else open. I just tried again, after just turning my computer on, no other programs open, and it STILL did this. and I can't close the dile window. Some times if I click the figure it'll try and open another.. like it can't tell if the first is closed or not.. apparently.. my guess is that is is to have closed but.. didn't.. for some reason.. This is just getting very VERY annoying for me x.x

There was a thread a few months ago explaining how to remove the Mac QuickTime legacy files from your Poser installation. Now, that may not sound relevant .. but it might be. Most of us who tried it found dramatically improved response/display times for the libraries. You didn't say if you had the latest patch, as suggested by gmadone. The other thing that occurs to me .. how fast do you work? If you're spinning dials like crazy, in full texture display mode, P5 simply won't be able to cope, no matter how good your hardware is. Final suggestion .. pop over to the Poser Technical forum. Some smart and very tenacious peeps hang out there.
