Hi, OK, I bit the bullet, decided to spin the roulette wheel, and tried to pre-order P6. But when I try to upgrade from P5, I'm getting a message that my serial number is invalid. It definitely isn't. I purchased P5 directly from CL, and the number can't have been blacklisted, because nobody but me has ever had access to it. Anyone else having this problem, or can anyone suggest what might be going wrong? Thanks, Morph

I have the same problem here ... I bought P5 from CL directly (EgiSys it was here in germany) and I'm a registerd user at CL since their Name was MetaCreation :) I have contacted CL about that but I do not expect an answer within 1 week ... I know CL is always slow answering mails :) So lets see and wait Greets Chris

Same Probelm here as well. Have even gone to the trouble of re-entering challenge/response codes etc - still no result... registered Poser user since Poser 3.... Checked the serial number was correct by asking for an additional challenge code that worked too. Not sure what is going on - I have IM'd Katherine at CL and am badgering the customer support to get some answers... Narsil

Thanks, guys. I guess it must be true that 'misery loves company', because I don't feel half so bad now I know I'm not alone! If so many of us have the problem, I suppose CL will have to fix it. But isn't it annoying that they say the special edition upgrade extras are only 'while stocks last'? So every day we have to wait for this to be resolved, our chances of getting the special stuff are dropping... Morph

Still, at least they can't run out of the download version..

dona_ferentes posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 6:22 AM

Call me an optimist, but after the total fiasco when P5 first appeared, and with the appearance of DAZ Studio, I was convinced that CL would pull out all the stops this time to make sure everything went smoothly and was a pleasant experience for their customers... But things sure don't seem to have gotten off to a good start. Morph

Yep, me too, both with Poser 4 serial and Poser 5. They're accepted for registration but not for pre-ordering, go figure!

bevans84 posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 7:41 AM

Just had the same thing happen twice when I copied and pasted the serial number in the form. When I entered it in manually, it worked. 'Course it could have been that I just happened to catch the server in a weak moment.

For anyone who doesn't already know, it's worth following up that link in message 2. There are some posts from CL there, and a request to IM them giving the answer to a few questions. Morph

Umm...Isn't P6 to be out in the Spring? That is nearly a month away. From CL email "In celebration of Poser 6 expected in spring this year....."

randym77 posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 8:16 AM

Hey, that's why they call it "pre-ordering." :-) Looks like they are aiming for early spring, at least, not late spring. I told Katherine of CL that the credit card I used expired March 31, and she said there should be no problem.

Thanks for the link up there Dagon - this process was staring to get v v irritating. Anyone else having this prob in the UK?

randym77 posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 12:04 PM

I think everyone outside the U.S. is having your problem, Hawke.

Hawke posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 12:15 PM

It would appear their tech support is choked as well - sent them an email 6 hours ago and it just came back as undeliverable :( (bangs head on desk) Love it when I have to work hard to persuade people to take my money :P It's grrrrreat lol

One thing you might want to check: Zero's and 'O's'. Mine failed the first time because of that. Made correction and it worked.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Hawke posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 12:49 PM

Thanks for the tip but I've tried it over and over for the past 6 hours - pretty sure I typed it in some of the time :D Apparently it is a localisation problem.

Hi, As posted on this thread: Id like to please ask if you would IM me with the following details: Location/Country Version of Poser you're upgrading from Serial number The exact store URL of the product that you are trying to purchase from Error numbers received Time the error occurred As a last resort however, all people eligible for the upgrade who continue to have this difficulty on our store during the pre-order period will receive their rightful Poser 6 Special Edition upgrade. Even if we have to process the old-fashioned way of faxing proof for a manual order process, well do. But please give this at least a week for us to iron out any of these issues. Also, our Technical Support has been working to get through as many people today as possible. There are many, many inquiries coming in that the serial number get mixed in with but I do promise that you are a priority. With kind regards, Katherine

When I pre-ordered, mine failed, but I had one little problem as mentioned above, one of my o's was a zero...changed it and it went right through no problem. Go my confirmation order also....so it went through fine. You may want to try again and really check your numbers and letters. At the (-)'s also. Sharen

Kelderek posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 2:49 PM

I entered all 0's as "zero" and all 1's as "one", I suppose that is the way it should be. The way it is printed on the CD cover, it looks like it should be the figure 0 (it has that little slash over the 0) and the 1 is clearly a "one" and not "I". Didn't help, still says it's not valid :-(

blud posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 3:26 PM

I didn't have any problems with my pre-order at all. I just copied down my # from the P5 help section and manuelly typed it in - no problem - minor hassle.

Carcinogen posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 5:25 PM

Mine failed the first time, and I had an "I" that was supposed to be a "1" The letters and numbers are hard to distinguish with the font they used on P5.

Curious_Labs posted Thu, 17 February 2005 at 6:33 PM

Hi, The main issue for many with not being able to place their pre-ordered Poser 6 SE upgrade has been found. The majority of issues come from those in regions outside of the US. Digital River has narrowed down the call out problem and I wanted to let you know it should be fixed by noon PST tomorrow, if it's not already resolved. Our sincere apologies for the frustration on this! With kind regards, Katherine

Peggy_Walters posted Fri, 18 February 2005 at 11:23 AM

Finally got my order through. Had the same problem as Carcinogen. I had written it down wrong on my list of serial numbers I keep in a "safe place" that takes me several days to locate every time I need them...
