Love the Speeders! big guy could use a bit more definition. Still cool.

Hmm, not sure how to do that - maybe it's because the big guy started off in Wings the same size as the small ones, and I just re-sized it in Bryce... Maybe if I smooth it some and maybe add a few smaller bits??? But too much smoothing can make a model huge... wonder how much I can get away with? Fran

Put a bump map on the big one to break things up. Add soem smaller bits might work too don't really need more smoothing.

Right... bump map... Er, is that something in Bryce? Is it increasing the "bump" setting in the materials lab, or is it something you do in Wings? Fran

Great stuff so far, but the little ships remind me of Star Trek ships.......

It's just one of a few designs I've had for a very long time - I even remember that one looked a lot like a cartoon hoover - but I don't have that one here, I'll have to try modelling that after the move as it's already packed and gone ahead. I'm currently doing a design that started off looking a lot like a pencil. And there's another that looks like a sausage - with wings! I just wanted to re-create these ancient child doodles, but have them look more... finished, maybe even realistic. Lots of fun! I was thinking that the biggest problem with the Speeder - is that to me it looks as if there's nowhere for the fuel for the rockets/motors to come from, just a thin girder to attach it to the body of the Speeder... I must think about that one. But I don't want to change the basic design too radically... at the moment. Maybe for another ...metamorphosis. Fran Oh...Mahray, I'll try your suggestion, thanks.

something to try- set all the 'sharp' edges to 'hard' in Wings, it will improve the detail once you import..good work here, keep it up..from an invertebrate spaceship maker (yeah, no backbone..;)

Aye, bump mapping might add some definition and detail. One correction to Mahray's picture : the bump-map image is actually the third image in the A channel, not the middle, alpha channel image.

Oh no, you don't get out of it that easy - you should always answer questions! I like answers... gives me something to try out (while waiting for the correct answer to come along! (LOL)) GrinDuckAndRunForTheHills! Fran
