I've been trying to model hands for some time. Each time gets easier. These are better than prior attempts, but the hand is tough! The bones just don't bend, they are pulled together, apart, etc. I'm playing with sliders as well as joints, but I don't want to get too complicated for just a hand. I want it to make a good fist, point, open and grasp a weapon. So far, the fist is the hardest. It requires the fingers to come together, close, and the thumb wrap is complicated. Any suggestions? Poser hands work great, just pick a pose and it's there. Thanks for feedback, R.

Really good work. Hands and feet are the toughest thing to model for the reasons you are finding. In fact, even the face is easier because it is more elastic when you rig it with bones - stretching is ok. No advice really. Hand bones are and their influences simply require a ton of finessing. It's both frustrating and rewarding when I look up at the clock, four hours have gone by and everything I'm working on is better, but just by a little!

Really cool, ominousplay. But, like you say, the hand is tough! Im considering try morph targets to make a fist. Every time I use the bones is the same problem...
