WIP = Work In Progress
A WIP is posted to show what you're up to, or to get advice, or for the heck of it :)
You join in the monthly challenge by creating a piece of work to do with the challenge, and uploading into the challenge area (which will be up sooner or later). The rules are in the challenge thread (buried somewhere atm), and there is no obligation to post any of your WIPs, though a lot of people do. At least you asked, it took me a month or so to work it out :)

It is next comp. This is for the March challenge. We skipped February. eventually the link "January 2005 Bryce Challenge -"Winners Award"- All Info & Links Here!" will be replaced in the header with a link to the thread I posted with this message. This is your chance to get a leg up on the March challenge. (of corse everyone else got one too.)jonnte posted Tue, 22 February 2005 at 3:42 PM

Just to clarify, there is no official declaration of intent type o thingy needed. You can sit there working diligently on you entry without telling a soul, and then, (run-on, yes drac I know) on the last day of the contest, upload your image to the challenge area. Which is at the moment not working. People post WIP's to get advice, encourage, (discourage, intimate and gennerally scare off any competion), to help establish a 'feel' for the contest, or any of countless other reasons. You don't have to post a WIP, it's just a good way to get help, or spread the excitment. The challenges run (about)monthly, and voting is handled by a thread started by AgentSmith or Zhann, here in the forum. The winner of the challenge gets to pick the next months challenge. I am tired of typing now. Good luck to everyone.

I'm working on the upload area but have no way to upload the page AS has to do it or I think I'll just ask Spike....hold on, I'm working at a disadvantage here....
