Hi all, I just upgraded from Carrara 2 to 4 (standard). I havent worked in Carrara much for about eight months or so, and Ive been thinking about getting a good recent (as much as possible) Carrara book to get myself up to speed with the new stuff and also just to "get back into it" so to speak. There isnt yet any Carrara 4 books (not that I could find anyway). Would the Carrara Studio 3 Handbook by Mike De La Flor be a good alternative or should I just wait until someone comes out with a C4 book? Not having worked with version 3 I'm not really sure if version 4 is hugely different or not. Thanks for the input. Cheers, H&B

I just bought the book for under $20 at amazon.com. There is much that still applys to version 4. I would get it especially for the price you can get it at. There is also a new Carrara 4 training CD. I included the URL for you.

Mike's book is really good and - especially if you haven't owned C3 and are moving straight to C4 - you'll find it really useful.

I had a look at the training CD. Listened to a few of the samples. It appears well done, but rather basic info stuff, at least in the samples on the site. The good stufff I guess might be in the sections that arent in the samples. Any comments on the CD? Is it worth the 100 bucks?I like the whole Quicktime approache, Im just wondering about the actual content. Is it just a quicktime version of the manual or is there more to it? Thanks, H&B
