I'm trying to find the propper tools/utilities to be able to create a character injection set for poser 5. I've looked in the free stuff area, but i'm not quite sure what it is that I should be looking for. I downloaded a utility from 'rosity's free stuff section called Pro MAT Builder 3.0 by Dark Faction. Is this what I should be using? And, does the utility used depend on the version of poser that you use? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks E.D.

Not sure what you meant by a "character injection set." Do you mean for V3 or M3, using DAZ's morph dials? Or do you want to create INJ files for your own characters/morphs? You probably want Injection Magic or Injection Pose Builder from DAZ.

well currently i'm working on a character for M3, using the morph dials. I need to be able to save out the morph settings, so that they can be applied from the pose library. I am pretty sure this is called a MAT pose, correct? Characters from marketplaces or free sections that require M3/V3 and their morph packs use these. And, MAT poses apply both materials and morphs? E.D.

No, MAT poses apply only textures. MAT = material, I think.

Poses that apply morphs are called MORs. Poses that inject morphs are INJs.

I think you want Injection Magic, from DAZ.

yes i'm reading up on injection magic right now. 8-) E.D.

Take a closer look an Injection Pose Builder. I do believe Injection Magic was bought by DAZ, and pretty much abandoned after that.

IPB doesn't say whether or not it includes textures into the pose tho. Do you know if it does? E.D.

Simply put, no. Use MAT Pose Edit for that purpose.

Link is to a thread at DAZ about the difference between Injection Magic and Injection Pose Builder. IIRC, Injection Magic is more powerful, which is why it's more expensive. It lets you create INJs for custom morphs, while IPB can only use DAZ's morphs.

Injection Magic was sold to DAZ, and therefore the creator abandoned tech support. People who need help don't get it. Go with Injection Pose Builder.

For your needs Injection Pose Builder would be your first choice. It's easy to use and works very well. However, it is limited to only creating inj/rem from morphs that where made using the standard Daz morph packs (but that's what you are using). Injection Magic on the other hand will create inj/rem from any morph for any figure. Note: Any morph meaning custom morphs made with magnets or an outside modeling app, etc. The problem with it is it doesn't work for everyone. I have it and have yet to have it finish without giving me a "runtime error" (that's a Visual Basics error not Poser runtime). Daz's only reply was that I need to have VB installed....well I do, and it's the newest and up-to date version (perhaps that's the problem). Anyway I would stay clear of it. There is another choice and it's free...Staale's "Posers Little Helper". Like Injection Magic, it will make inj/rem from any morph. The link is to a short tut on making your first morph file, and you can get PLH from the freestuff link at the top of that page. Your last choice is what the big boy "Pros" use and swear by.... doing it all by hand in a text editor.... (Personally I would prefer to stick a needle in my eye first). Have fun, SWAMP

http://koti.mbnet.fi/~ilaripih/MPEHome/ is the link to Mat Pose Edit 3, a free utility that will save your morphed characters as a pose file. It, naturally, also saves mat poses. One of the tutorials is about saving morph poses alone; it's really very easy.

If you're doing "version 3" figures, such as Vicky 3, you want to use Injection Pose Builder.
