I am working on an animation of a cannon and used a volumetric cloud to represent the smoke when it fires. I then ticked and unticked the visibility at different points in the animation. When I render the animation as an AVI, the cloud stays behind (see above still from the animation) however when I render a still frame it correctly disappears. Question 1. Has anyone else successfully animated the visibility setting of a cloud? Question 2. Is there an alternative way to do this? My current work around is to put a fade in via a video editing programme.MarkBremmer posted Thu, 03 March 2005 at 5:40 PM
Hello Andy, The visibility check box is an absolute so it does not respect the tweeners. The easiest thing to do with your current set up is to change the density of the volumetric over time. Mark

Visibility IS something that can be animated, but not faded in and out. So it always acts like the tweener is set to discreet. (i.e. all off until set to on, then all on until set to off again. No 50% at the half way point.) Hope this helps!

I went with a combination of both settings and that works quite well.
