Using Pro Pack...
any ideas?
I tried to make transparent "cones" with sand texture, parented to the wheels in view of a truck...
Not a desireable effect...
Im trying to make a dust trail effect behind a truck, roaring across a desert..

(hope that all makes sense). Thanks if you have any ideas..

How hard to you want to work at it? You could probably make the shape of the trail you want with primitives and use magnets to tweak the shapes. And then use transmaps to make them semi-tranparent, adding noise nodes in the material room to give them the illusion of having small particles. I made a great looking fire stream for a dragon just using a cone and a ball and applying displacement and turbulance nodes to give it texture.

In Propack: Take a large ball, scale and rotate to the desired overall shape of the cloud, then apply a Wave to it. Turn up the Turbulence parameter high, then move the Wavelength and Phase parameters back and forth randomly through the animation. Might also rotate the ball itself randomly. Make the ball nearly transparent, and use a transparency map to give it the 'dusty' effect. Parent it to the car, of course.

thanks! I totally forgot about using "wave".. I'll try it, and post my results.
